Incandescent Bulb
An incandescent bulb is the normal bulb you see every day. They create light by heating a filament inside the bulb. They create quite a bit of heat and this causes the filament to weaken and break over time.
Halogen bulbs
These are like an incandescent bulb but use tungsten filament in a tube surrounded by halogen gas.
They are also hotter but last longer. Also remember not to touch the glass with your hand as this will damage it.
Fluorescent Lighting
A Fluorescent tube creates light by passing electricity through inert gases and mercury. This is a very energy efficient way to illuminate and lasts for a very long time, up to 20,000 hours. The most common is white but they come in many different colours.
Compact Fluorescent Tube
These tubes are very similar Fluorescent tubes and are very efficient but are much smaller
